Temperatures have remained relatively low over the last week or so hovering around 20-25 degrees and below 20 on some days. It has been a mix of fine weather and rain at times, but definitely less humidity than we are used to in June.
Today has been hotter but it looks like temperatures will go down again for the weekend with cloud forecast for tomorrow and then finer weather on Sunday. |

Yesterday was the last day of the season at Kagura meaning that the ski and snowboard season is now officially over in the region with all of the resorts now closed.
It is still keeping relatively cool here considering that we are now into June - today it probably won't rise about 18 degrees in Yuzawa. After a rainy start it is just dull and cloudy at the moment. The forecast for the week is generally fine weather with a mix of sun and cloud.... we shouldn't see much rain but it doesn't look like it will heat up too much this week.
-----
We plan to post occasional weather updates to this Yuzawa Now page during the summer months and of course will be back with daily reports in the run up to next snow season.... look out for the first snowfall on the mountains sometime in October.
Thanks for reading the reports throughout winter and we hope that you have a good summer! |

Today the sun has been out though there is a fair bit of cloud in the sky - but generally a fine day with a high temperature of around 24 degrees.
Tomorrow it will likely be cloudy with similar temperatures but there is a chance of rain on Sunday.
Sunday is the last day for the lifts at Kagura so if you are looking for that last ski or snowboard of the season.... just a thin slice of the main course remains open. |

Fine weather was forecast but it has been mixed.
Yesterday after a decent start, in the afternoon we suddenly had thunder and some torrential rain in the region. It was fairly shortlived though. Today it is around 22 degrees and cloudy at the moment with some strong winds blowing about.
Cloud on the forecast for tomorrow then cloud/rain for Saturday.
This coming weekend is the last for the Kagura resort. Snow is getting thin on the group up there now, only to be expected in late May! Once they close that will officially be the end of the ski and snowboard season at resorts in Niigata. |

More cool weather over the weekend but we escaped rain for the most part until later on in the day yesterday.
It's 7 degrees at the Kagura main course this morning and a lot of low cloud hanging on making visibility poor at the moment.
Kagura is now into the last week. The 'main gelende' is still open (1300m of it) with the quad lift still moving. The resort has said that depending on the conditions that might change to a smaller part of the course serviced by the Kagura No1 romance lift. We shall see.
Fine weather on the forecast for this week. |

| Cooler yesterday and even cooler this morning. With cloud cover it feels colder than the 14 degrees the thermometer says. It shouldn't rise too much during the day and similar forecast for tomorrow - cloud with a chance of rain in the morning. |

It has been quite hot the last few days... this morning, the thermometer posted a high of 29 degrees just a bit earlier. Kagura was reporting 16 degrees earlier this morning with it rising to around 20 degrees during the day so it has been very warm up there as well.
Tomorrow will probably be cooler with cloud forecast until Saturday and then a chance of rain on Sunday. |
