Another mixed day in Minakami with snow hammering down in the morning only for it to clear up later. Stunning blue skies and amazing views down into the valley with warmish temperature. The snow lower down started to get a bit heavy but still cold enough up top to keep it light and fluffy. Shady spots still have the best snow.
Light snow forecast for the weekend though there may be the odd glimpse of sun if you are lucky. |

Bit of everything today in Minakami with cloud, light snow, a touch of sun and some gusty winds. The temperatures are still down in the minuses and the wind made it feel even colder. The snow is still great though and there was another dusting today to keep things topped up.
The forecast still has Minakami down for some more snow showers into the weekend but it looks as if temperatures are on the rise so this long cold, snowy spell might be drawing to a close. |

Light snow again in Minakami and those familiar grey skies are still overhead. It was a funny one yesterday with snow forecast for the whole day but there was about an hour midday of clear blue skies and bright sunshine. A very welcome change and good to see the sun again. It didn't last though and the snow was back again for the afternoon. Still loads of soft snow piled up everywhere and great conditions everywhere.
The forecast is for snow for the rest of the week and into the weekend, though we are being teased with the possibility of sunshine again on Sunday. Will have to wait and see. |

Another big day of snow yesterday and it is snowing in Minakami again today. There was a brief bit of sunshine but the cloud is back and the snowing is falling once more. It has been pounding down the last few days and it is pretty deep all over the mountain. The groomers are really soft as well. This weather is set to continue so that base is set to get deeper and deeper over the next week.

The snow keeps falling. It was pretty much non-stop yesterday with light snow falling throughout the day. The snow is building up thick and fast all over the valley and up in the resorts. Fantastic conditions all over the mountain but it is very deep if you stray off the groomers.
The forecast is for nothing but snow for the next week so the snow is going to continue to pile up. It teased us with the possibility of sun on Friday but has decided that it is more likely going to keep snowing.

More snow in Minakami today as this long run of snowfall continues. Another 10/15 centimeters all over the area since yesterday and those piles of snow around are getting bigger and bigger. It is cold again and there is a strong wind blowing which is going to affect some lift operations throughout the day. The snow you can get to though is going to be first rate - soft and fresh.
Forecast is for this snow to continue until Friday when we might have a break from the snow and even a possibility of a rare glimpse of the sun.

The snow is still falling in Minakami. Light snowfall at the moment and apart from the cold temperatures it is a pretty decent day out. A light breeze, fresh snow and good visibility. There has been lots of snow over the past three days so it is really deep off the groomers and the groomed slopes themselves are really soft.
The snow is here to stay according to the forecast with snow falling all through the weekend and into next week. |
