The Arai region is located to the north of Myoko and about a 60 minute
drive from Nagano City (in good conditions). There are a few large resort areas in the
region including ARAI Mountain & Spa, Myoko Suginohara and the other resorts
around Mt Myoko. A little further north and you're at Joetsu and the
Sea of Japan.
