Already September, can you believe it? Welcome back.
Summer was hot as usual, though some spells of cooler weather making it perhaps more bearable than other summers have been. Last week was cooler but it has been a bit hotter this week. A mixture of hot sticky sun and rain.
This afternoon it is clouding over after a sunny morning and temperature reaching 30 degrees earlier on. From now on we should see the temperature and humidity gradually decreasing as the comfortable weather of autumn arrives.
The snow season is still a good few months off, but we'll be updating this page each week now with the latest weather info from the region. |

It has been hot this week and very humid as well and that looks set to continue. Last night rain wasn't forecast but we got torrential rain for a fair part of the evening.
This morning the rain has moved on and at the moment it is just cloudy. Some more rain forecast for later on in the day and also for tomorrow, though it is looking likely that Saturday and Sunday should see generally sunny and fine weather. The last week though the weather has been quite changeable so be prepared for anything!
People have started arriving in Yuzawa for the Fuji Rock Festival held at Naeba this weekend. Have a good time if you are coming on up for the festival... |

The end of the rainy season in the region was officially announced yesterday with hot temperatures into the low 30s and fine sunny weather throughout Niigata.
Generally fine and hot weather looks set to continue next week and currently the forecast for the Fuji Rock Festival at Naeba next weekend is looking good. The Fuji Rock Festival will be held at Naeba from Friday 25th - Sunday 27th July.
We'll post the latest conditions on Thursday. |

The rainy season has really kicked in the last week or so with quite a lot of heavy rain - sometimes short bursts but more often rainy, grey sky cloudy days.
This morning started off with more rain but it has cleared up somewhat this afternoon and while still cloudy it is quite bright. It has been fairly humid as well.
Tomorrow looks set to be a mix of sun and then more rain later on and rain on and off during the coming week.... maybe after that we might be near the end of the offical rainy season and able to get on with the summer.
The Fuji Rock Festival is fast approaching - once more at Naeba, the festival will be on for 3 days from Friday 25th - Sunday 27th July. |

Well it didn't really turn out to be a hot week. There has been some rain but not as much as is expected for rainy season. It has also just been on the local news that Niigata is experiencing a very dry spring/rainy season with water levels much lower than expected.
For the weekend it looks like tomorrow will be cloudy and then we might have rain on Sunday... after that more clear weather with temperatures rising later on in the week. |

We are now officially in rainy season and there has been a fair bit of rain since late last week. It has been fairly cool though and today temperatures only rose to around 21 degrees. At times it is quite humid, but not what you might expect for this time of year.
Just cloud forecast for tomorrow and then mixed weather after that. It will probably get hotter as the week progresses. |

The last week has seen some sunny weather and not much rain - it has been much more settled than it was. Temperatures are remaining relatively low and humidity too, although levels are definitely rising.
It is looking likely that officially this region entering rainy season is another 10 days or so away.
In the coming week, fine weather on most days is forecast. |
