Wednesday 7th January 2009, 8:58AM
Weather conditions: Cloudy with sun
New snowfall: 10 cm (Naeba) 10cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 150 cm (Naeba base); 200cm (Kagura)
Yesterdays weather brought us quite a bit of powder snow all over the mountain, the top 2 man lift was open at Naeba in addition to all the usual lift operations. Conditions got quite bad towards the end of the day as the wind got stronger and caused white out conditions even causing myself to ride off and away from the piste without actually realising.

A great day this morning, with blue skies and sun, a bit of a breeze with the clouds running towards us from the Kagura direction. Sure to be some fat lines to be had up there on the mountain today.

Tuesday 6th January 2009, 8:28AM
Weather conditions: Cloudy
New snowfall: 0 cm (Naeba) 0cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 150 cm (Naeba base); 200cm (Kagura)
It happens to be dumping this morning, though the weather forecast only told us about an expected 2cm - it apears to have given us a trusty 2cm in about 30 mins - Let's hope we get a bit more!

Pretty cold too up here in Niigata with -4 in the village and no wind. There was talk of the half pipe opening at Asagai today, but after the Pipe Dragon went through yesterday it was decided to wait until later this week. So expect some half pipe action coming out of Asagai this coming weekend. As far as kickers are concerned there's a nice big 'A' kicker in the park which kind of throws you up higher than some would normally like.

Monday 5th January 2009, 10:39AM
Weather conditions: Cloudy
New snowfall: 0 cm (Naeba) 0cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 150 cm (Naeba base); 200cm (Kagura)
Things seem a little warmer this morning and proof is on the temperature scale with the red stuff sitting threateningly just below zero. A cloudy start to the day with the top of the mountain not visible from the town. Both of the Naeba gondolas are operational again today with the Dragondola also shifting people between Tashiro and Naeba.

Sunday 4th January 2009, 10:05AM
Weather conditions: Sunny with cloud
New snowfall: 5 cm (Naeba) 30cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 150 cm (Naeba base); 200cm (Kagura)
A Sunny & cloudy morning up here today. Temperatures sit below zero whilst all lift operations run normally. There seems to be a few less bodies around as well, as maybe some people leave the mountains early to beat the traffic on route back to their normal lives.

Saturday 3rd January 2009, 1:07PM
Weather conditions: Snow
New snowfall: 10 cm (Naeba) 30cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 150 cm (Naeba base); 200cm (Kagura)
Top quad at kagura closed with no access to Tashiro from the Kagura side.

Saturday 3rd January 2009, 9:36AM
Weather conditions: Snow
New snowfall: 10 cm (Naeba) 30cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 150 cm (Naeba base); 200cm (Kagura)
It's still snowing out there, and hasn't really stopped since New year. Conditions are quite breezy with bad visibility from the mid station and up. Both gondolas are open at Naeba with Dragondola access to Tashiro along with normal lift operations at Kagura and Mitsumata.

Friday 2nd January 2009, 7:59AM
Weather conditions: Snow
New snowfall: 20 cm (Naeba) 50cm (Kagura)
Snow depth: 140 cm (Naeba base); 170cm (Kagura)
Snowy conditions this morning, with lots of fresh snow everywhere, around 20cm. Strong winds also. The Dragondola is closed today so any journeys between Naeba and the Kagura areas will need to be done by the local bus. Early morning though Tashiro is closed due to the winds and only part of Mitsumata/Kagura is open. Both gondolas are open at Naeba, though you can expect very poor visibility up the top as a lot of snow is being blown around causing white out conditions.
