Great conditions today. The snow is coming down steadily and there is no wind to speak of. There has been a good build up of fresh snow from the early hours and it is about boot deep at the moment on top of a soft layer from yesterday. The cold temperatures have given us some light, fluffy snow and it would be a shame not to go out and enjoy it.
It looks to be snow into the weekend with temperatures starting to rise again from Monday. |

The forecast seems to be spot on with grey skies and light snow falling in Minakami today. As predicted the temperature has dropped and there is a very light dusting falling all over today. This weather looks set to last for a bit which will be a nice refresher after the snow was affected by the rain and higher temperatures of the last couple of days. Bit hard under foot this morning but will soften up and should be a nice layer of fresh stuff building up.
The forecast is still saying light snow for the rest of the week with the possibility of some sunshine over the weekend. Temperatures are likely to stay pretty low for the rest of this week though might start to get a bit warmer towards the start of next week. |

Bit of a grim one today in Minakami. Warmer temperatures meant a bit of rain. Grey skies everywhere and depending on your altitude it was either wet snow up high or rain lower down. As a result it was pretty thick and heavy snow out on the slopes and very soft underfoot.
The cold weather is on the way back though and the forecast is for snow for the rest of the week with a possibility of it clearing up by Sunday for a bit of weekend sunshine. |

Warmer day today in Minakami - a bit of sun and a bit of cloud today. The forecast was for rain but we got off lightly with just a few spots. The snow was pretty hard this morning but it soon softened up in the warmer temperatures and was pretty good by mid morning.
The forecast is for a drop in temperature from tomorrow and the snow is set to be back again for the rest of the week. |

Light snow falling in Minakami again today with grey skies overhead. It does look as if it might clear up a bit later but hard to tell. Low temperatures and fresh snow about as it snowed last night. No wind either, so all in all a fantastic day to be out on the slopes.
The forecast for the next week is predominantly for light snow with the occasional burst of sunshine, although Monday morning is supposed to be nothing but sun. Monday looks to be the pick of the days next week as after that the temperature is supposed to drop again and it is going to get pretty cold. |

Snow up high in Minakami but other places have had a bit of sun this morning though the clouds seem to be coming in again now. Not as cold as it has been recently so pretty pleasant in the lower resort but starting to get colder again now that the sun has gone. The snow is still great after the big falls of late but some of it has become a bit heavy due to the sun and you can feel it change as you ski down the hill from top to bottom.
Light snow still dominates the weekly forecast but there are a couple of sunny spells sprinkled in their too. |

Another mixed day in Minakami with snow hammering down in the morning only for it to clear up later. Stunning blue skies and amazing views down into the valley with warmish temperature. The snow lower down started to get a bit heavy but still cold enough up top to keep it light and fluffy. Shady spots still have the best snow.
Light snow forecast for the weekend though there may be the odd glimpse of sun if you are lucky. |
