The snow season turned out to be a goody with plenty of fresh snowfalls to keep the powder hounds amuzed and satisfied. The season was characterised by good stable weather systems and lift queues that were often descibed by visitors as non existent.
We are now in the middle of summer. Furano is actually better known for it's summer season; being world famous in Japan for its beautiful scenery of fields of flowers. The transformation of the surrounding countryside from the pristine white of winter to the vivid colours of summer can only be described as stunning.
With summer here, that only means one thing...we are on the downhill run to winter now. I look forward to reporting the first snowfalls in early November. |

| This is it, the last chance of the season to get out there and enjoy your winter hobby. It is looking like a fine day indeed to farewell skiing on Furano Ski Area. Still plenty of snow, with skiing from top of the Furano Zone to the bottom. Furano Ropeway, Downhill Romance Lifts #2 and 3 are operating. Skies are bluish with sunshine and it is nice and warm (10 deg at 8am) with no wind. Lifts close for the season at 4pm. |

| Spring has finally taken a hold on the area, and one could not ask for a better day to be outside. Temperatures have already reached 14 degrees with a forecast high of 18, which would be the warmest weather we've seen all year. The skies are steadily clearing in the wake of the system that brought us all that nasty weather yesterday and the day before, and it should be all sun and fun for at least the next 24 hours. Golden Week is upon us, and already lots of new faces have piled into town to hit the slopes one last time before the season ends. Still plenty of snow, especially on the upper parts of the Furano Zone, so be sure to get out there and take advantage of this beautiful weather! |

Yesterday things didn't pan out too well with the wind really picking up during the day and wreaking havoc with lift operations.
Today is grey sky with drizzle. Furano Ropeway, Downhill Romance Lift No.2 and No.3 are operating. The next four days should see the weather take a turn for the better with the sun being forecast to make an appearance. Let hope weather man is right on that one.

From here on in we enter the final phase of the season. Furano Ski Area's last day of the season will be May 5, so make the most of the Golden Week vacation and head to Furano for your final turns of the season. The Golden Week influx has already started with plenty of rental cars and buses filling the car parks of the local hotels last night.
We have a very light drizzle happening at the moment. Yesterdays winds have disappeared and it feels relatively warm now that the winds have gone. Apart from the slight precipitation which looks like it could clear up at any stage, or continue for the rest of the day, conditions are good in terms of temperature and visibility.
Lifts operating today are the Furano Ropeway and Downhill Romance Lift No3.

Last night it rained and in early evening there was some snow mixed in with the rain at times. While this is not really anything to boast about, it is the best news that I have at the moment.
Today's winds can only be described as strong, and it is varing between rain and sleet on the hill. The rain is coming in complete horizontal at the moment. Furano Ropeway is on hold due to the winds. The sole operating lift is Prince Romance Lift, and there are quite a few people out there at the moment battling the weather to get a few runs in.
The forecast for the next couple of days is for cloud and rain.

Overnight there have been very strong winds. They have died down as the morning has progressed but it is still gusty at times out on the mountain. The forecast is for rain today but at the moment we as basking in sunshine. With the wind whipping around it feels rather cold, some insulation under the shell is advised.
