It is a fairly bright but overcast morning here in Furano, with a chance of rain later on in the day. It hasn't been quite as warm these last few, with a high of 15 forecast for today. The forecast for Golden Week is generally fine, sunny weather.
Today is the last day of the 2007/8 ski & snowboard season at Furano with the last of the runs having their last day. After today, the 'green season' will be the reason why people visit Furano - and there's plenty to do in these beautiful surroundings.

Things are a bit cooler today with a high temperature in the 15 degree region along with wet conditions. It looks like tomorrow should see the fine weather returning however.
The last few weeks really has seen some warm temperatures with people in t-shirts and the cherry blossoms out some two weeks or so earlier than usual. The snow has been disappearing faster than predicted and as such the resort has announced that they will be closing a week earlier than planned, with the final day of the season now being Tuesday 29th April. So only 4 more days left to the season.......
On May 3-6th there will be (free) snow groomer and snowmobile rides at the top of the Furano zone which sounds like fun and the ropeway will be in operation on those days (round trip 1000 yen). After that the ropeway will be open again for the hiking season in early June. |

The fine weather continues, as are the warm temperatures - today up to 23 degrees. The snow has been melting away quickly in these temperatures and now there is hardly any snow left near the base of the Furano ropeway. The only courses remaining open are some of the upper slopes including the Panorama Course and Technical course. As there is no snow down below, you need to get the ropeway back down.
There is a chance of rain tomorrow, with fine weather forecast to return on Friday and into the weekend. |

| More of the same with the fine weather continuing - sun, sun and more sun, along with some warm temperatures. It looks like it will continue to be fine weather in Furano until Wednesday as well with highs for the day in the low 20's.... it really is warming up now during the daytimes, even if evenings are still cool. The resort is still planning on being part open until 6th May. |

The spring weather of the last few days continues and it still looks likely to rise to around 16 degrees this afternoon. The forecast also has fine and sunny weather lined up for every day in the coming week with warm temperatures - the reamining snow will quickly be melting in these conditions.
Though snow remains higher up of course, a look at the webcam at the moment shows some bare slopes and a few people walking their dogs there! |

A beautiful spring day today. Good top to bottom skiing of a softening cover of snow. The ropeway and top chair number 3 offer access to the entire Furano zone. The snowfall yesterday did not settle and it stopped snowing around 6pm last night.
Expect the temperatures to get hotter early next week, with an expected top of 16 degrees on Wednesday.

April snow. It is snowing this morning. Thank you very much. The temperature in town is 6 degrees, but snow is falling very heavily. Visibility is poor. A white blanket has covered cars and those who have already changed to summer tires must be a little concerned by this unseasonal snow fall.
Ski resort operations remain as top to bottom skiing on the Furano Zone accessed by the Furano Ropeway and the Top Chair Number 3. |
