New "tag cloud" pages for each section have been created where all of the tags are listed - all together on one page or displayed alphabetically. Please take a look at those new tag cloud pages below for each of the three sections:
| PHOTOS | REVIEWS | JOURNALS |
| Photos Tag Cloud | Reviews Tag Cloud | Journals Tag Cloud |
You'll notice that the tags are displayed using lots of different font sizes - it is supposed to be like that! If a word is shown in a large font, it means that there are a lot of instances of that tag/keyword - ie. more content. The frequency of a tag is shown visually using different font sizes and the relative text sizes change automatically as more content is uploaded. (If you put your mouse over one of the tags it will show you how many times that tag has been used).
Clicking on any of the tags will take you to a page that shows you the Photos, Reviews or Journals that have had that particular tag assigned to them.
We hope this will be a much simpler way to find the Photos, Reviews and Journals that you are looking for on the site, as well as indicating the popularity/frequency of those tags and encouraging people to look further and find out more about other places.
Assigning Tags
So, how do these tags get assigned?
When you upload a Photo, a Resort Review or a Journal, if specify a Resort Name and/or Prefecture from the drop down boxes on the submit form, that Resort Name and/or Prefecture will automatically be assigned as a tag - so there is no need to manually write in the resort name or prefecture in the tag field.
You can assign different tags to each item you submit on the Photo upload page.
You can also assign multiple tags to each item you submit, by separating them with a comma.
All you do is write your new tag(s) in the "Add Tag" field on the form. So, for example, if you wanted to add the tags nighta, powder and cliff, you would just enter those in the tags field of the form as:
nighta, powder, cliff
What if a tag already exists?
Don't worry. If you add a tag in the Add Tag field that already exists, the system will recognize it (as long as the spelling is the same) and will add your photo/review/journal to that existing tag.
Unassigning existing tags from your content
If you want to unassign a tag from one of your photos or journals, you can do that on the respective Edit page.
On the Edit page you will notice a box that displays the currently assigned tags. Use the Ctrl key and click on tags to highlight the tags (multiple tags ok) that you wish to remain and then click on Update. When you go back to the photo or Journal online (and refresh the page) you should see that the tags have changed. The un-highlighted tags should have disappeared.
(Of course you can only do this to content - Photos and Journals - that you have uploaded using your SnowJapan Insider account).

The Resort Names and Prefectures that were already assigned to Photos, Resort Reviews and Journals on the site up until mid-October 08 have all been imported into the system as tags.
Please try to make any new tags that you create meaningful. We don't want the cloud tag to be overrun with meaningless tags - and any tags that we feel are not appropriate will be deleted.
Business names, website names or promotional type keywords are not appropriate so please refrain from posting them. They will be deleted.
If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us.
We hope you enjoy using them.
